The ZENTANGLE® Method

The Zentangle Method is simple and joyful way to create structured patterns through the use and repetition of 4 simple strokes which I will teach you. Each pattern, called a "Tangle" has a unique name and brings its own personality. Combining the patterns in traditional and inventive ways is a glorious approach to illustrating a composition or just relaxing. This method of drawing can add "zing" to a birthday card, a DIY project, a book report, and more ... and can reduce stress, awaken one's imagination and provide a structured and mindFULLness stress-free atmosphere. I enjoy all things ART and the contemplative, relaxed feeling that relaxes my grip on the day begins with my Zentangle® drawing practice.

To begin, you need the proper tools including a paper tile (the surface you draw on), a pencil, drawing implements and a shading device - called a tortillion. I supply all materials. This art is non-representational so there is no stress to perfectly copy my example as the teacher, or others who are drawing. There are no mistakes in this art form, hence - no erasers. What you end up with when you put your tools down, will amaze and delight you.

The Zentangle® Drawing Method can only be taught by CZTs- Certified Zentangle Teachers - who are rigorously trained in all things Zentangle®. I am thrilled and proud to be one! This method can easily be tailored to  all ages - elementary children, tweens and teens, adults and seniors. To begin, all you need is your pencil to make your first stroke and let the fun begin ... "One Stroke at a Time®".
